Fuerteventura - Corralejo

‘The Island’s largest tourist resort’

In Fuerteventura, Corralejo lies on the island’s most northerly point. On the Canary Island of Fuerteventura Corralejo is the largest and liveliest holiday resort and of all the Canaries, Fuerteventura possesses the longest coastline - 340km.

We are based in Corralejo and are therefore on hand to personally answer any queries and questions that you may have during your stay about your rental accommodation.

Within ‘the calm island’ Fuerteventura, Corralejo has a lot to offer visitors. Some areas are very similar to a UK seaside town, with sea, sand and surf, whereas others are typically Canarian.

Things to see and do

Isla de Lobos

It would be wrong not to take an additional 20 minute trip when staying in Fuerteventura, Corralejo to Isla de Lobos. From the harbour, Paseo Maritimo, you can catch the ferry to the 5 sq km islet, with its highest peak being only 127m above sea level, the same height as the Glasgow Tower in Scotland, measuring the same 400feet.

The island is a protected area as it plays host to over 130 species of flora and fauna. In a few hours it’s possible to walk around the tiny islet, taking in awe inspiring views from the top of La Caldera. There are a few small restaurants, however, these are quite expensive, so a packed lunch may be the order of the day. The last return ferry departs at 16.00 back to the harbour.

Fishing

There are a variety of boat excursions and fishing trips in the waters surrounding Fuerteventura, Corralejo harbour is where these can be easily booked at one of the many kiosks.

Windsurfing

Although not as well known as Jandia in the south of Fuerteventura, Corralejo’s beach is ideal for windsurfing, but more suited to those of intermediate and advanced levels; however there is a small lagoon some 20 minutes drive from Corralejo for beginners.

Golf

In Fuerteventura, Corralejo is soon to have its very own golf course and many new golf courses are planned for the island.

The Tourist information Office

Situated on Calle Almirante Nelson, a few streets from the beachfront, open on week days 08.00-15.00 where further information can be obtained of activities in Fuerteventura, Corralejo is definitely a good base from which to explore.
